That Was The Week That Was — 24th February 2020

Over the year's my desk has been host to many different notebooks, from the default Moleskine, to a super-posh Smythson Soho I picked up in a sale — though still cost me £80 — to various others.

However the one I have now settled on is the Midori MD Paper A5 with a graph layout. It's a simple looking book with a nice considered graph layout in pale blue, with perfect bound stitching. The thing I really love about it though is it lays perfectly flat when opened up on my desk. This is really important for me when I'm sketching out concepts and ideas for projects. Yes the Smythson looks great — and you get a lot of beautiful pale blue pages for your money, but it doesn't lay flat when fully opened. I've burned through several of the MD notebooks and I love them. You can get them from The Journal Shop.

I've been working on this new client commission this week, part of which has seen me begin to explore using sound to drive geometry in Houdini.
