After a great first day at the Flash on the Beach conference, which involved attending great sessions from Eric Natzke, Branden Hall and Craig Swann, eating pie and mash with my old friend Todd Purgason and ending up at the Flux party I woke up on Tuesday morning to the most horrendous gales and rain.

Which wouldn’t have normally bothered me but this was the morning of my session - I was first on at 9:30 so I just thought who the hell is going to turn up and brave the beautiful English weather to watch me prattle on for an hour or so. Luckily people did turn up - so thanks if you came to my session yesterday - hope it was worth braving the rain.
Some links from my session that you might find useful: Ms Pinky, video of the spin project, Processing, Play-Doh project, Cinema Redux and the mN site with the much talked about video.
The highlights for me yesterday were a brilliant warm, funny, intelligent presentation from Jeremy Keith about Ajax - what it is and what it isn’t and when you should and shouldn’t use it. The presentation had a real beautiful flow to it - and that is not easy to do. Chris Orwig’s session was another standout. Chris just has an incredible honesty to the way he talks and the stories he tells - plus he’s a fab photographer too. And of course Hillman at the end of the day was as great as ever.
But the thing that really stands out over the two days so far is the vibe at this conference. John Davey has created a lovely personal, and in my opinion, very British feeling conference that I know is going to grow over the next few years. A lot of that is down to the incredible work and passion John has put into creating this event. Thanks John for pulling this off - it’s something to be very proud of.

Thanks for a typically engaging and inspiring presentation yesterday - I will try and do it justice when I report back to my team
Nice talking to you over lunch also. Incidentally, the DoP I was trying to remember the name of is Chris Menges. Check out Three Burials - not *amazing* but certainly one of the most beautiful films I’ve seen this year. Like I said, it would make for a great redux study.
Have you got any plans to release the redux of Hero for large scale print?
