I read (my personally signed) Analogue In Digital Out from cover to cover, it’s a top read and visually exciting and fun. It’s funny, informative, interesting and exudes the passion Brendan Dawes has for creativity and doing things differently. In Brendan’s case doing it differently is better for him and definitely better for us. He dares to be different, he dares to question “Why does it always have to be like this and be the same?” Read the book, it’ll explain it in a way that everyone can learn from and appreciate why being different is a good and exciting thing. Everyone who reads AIDO will turn the final page with a smile and a feeling of inspiration. AIDO would look good gracing anyone’s coffee table and should serve as a constant reminder that he who dares, creates and inspires.

Can’t wait for the poster to arrive in my email! (I was lucky enough to be part of that impromptu session).

I’ve almost finished reading the copy of your book I picked up at FF… I completely agree with Philip’s comments above, but I wanted to also add that your session was just as inspirational as the book, and made that day of the conference for me.

    Thanks again!

I’m sat in the airport in Austin waiting for my flight home to Manchester via Newark after what was a fantastic Flashforward. While I didn’t manage to catch as many sessions as I would have liked to, the best thing about these events is the social side - seeing old friends that I haven’t seen for a while and meeting some ones. We spent the last night at some place on Cedar street dancing to The Spazmatics doing eighties covers!

Personally I was amazed (and overwhelmed) at the reaction to the new book - the first time anyone apart from myself and the New Riders team has managed to see it in actual real life and more importantly own a copy. I ended up doing two book signings, giving away some exclusive prints and also doing a kind of impromptu code jam were I got some names of people in the audience and made live typographic posters (see below) which I’m going to send them when I get back.

The icing on the cake was fellow mN hombre Oliver Dore picking up the art award in the Flash film festival for the fabulous 15×15 project. I was like a proud dad - especially as I was giving out the awards on stage too.

Up next (after a rest in France) is Flash on the Beach in Brighton, UK in December. Watch out for some more exclusive posters (again these will be one-offs). Everyone is so excited about FOTB - the first UK Flash conference for six years with an incredible line up.
