“If you look like your passport photo, you’re too ill to travel.” — Will Kommen

On February 8th I’ll be speaking at The Lighthouse in Glasgow for Urban Learning Space. This will be my first trip to Glasgow so I’m looking forward to seeing the city.

Then on February 19th it’s off to my all-time favorite city, New York where I’ll be attending the launch party for Design and the Elastic Mind at MoMA where Cinema Redux is being shown as part of the exhibition which runs from February 24th - May 12th.

A week later I’m back in New York to help judge the interactive category for the Art Directors Club annual awards.

In April I’m in London for another judging role, this time for the prestigious D&AD

Then in June I take my first ever trip to Malmo in Sweden for “From Business to Buttons“, a user experience conference running from June 12th - June 13th. I’m really looking forward to this as Donald Norman, author of one of my all time favorite books “The Design of Everyday Things” will be delivering the keynote on day 1. I hope my keynote on day 2 can live up to Don Normans!

You might have noticed that there’s no Flash centered conferences mentioned. I’ve decided to take a back seat from the Flash specific conference scene for a while. Not because I’m bored with it but because I want to get some new stuff together and come up with new ideas. Also I personally think that people get bored of seeing the same old faces at these things - christ not that Dawes bloke again. That said I reserve the right to change my mind if someone comes up with a Flash conference gig in nice hot exotic location!

Oh and there is another conference I’ve been asked to do but I’m not allowed to talk about it yet. Could be very interesting…

Have a nice time at ULS in Glasgow - it’s a lovely space. Check out the building signaage too, you’ll like it. Say hi to them for me.
