Occasionally I like to mention a few things that have caught my eye so to speak, be that in a digital sense or actual physical real world. So here’s some stuff that you may find of interest

    Graphic Define

Daniel Schutzsmith has published Issue 2 of Graphic Define Magazine, an online magazine focusing on the business of running a graphic, web, or interactive studio. The premise of the site is to give design professionals a place to share their own experiences and tips for business success.”

    Bill Buxton’s new book

I’ve been lucky enough to spend some time with Bill Buxton over the years and I always find him a very inspirational character, be that just talking to him over lunch or listening to one of his always brilliant and thought provoking lectures. Well Bill has just released a great new book called Sketching User Experiences that I’ve been unable to put down since it landed on my desk a few weeks ago. It’s written in a very human, non techy way, full of great stories that hammer home the points that Bill makes. If you have anything to do with interaction design you need to read this book.

    Coda

I’m really loving Coda - the Mac web development software from the people that brought you Transmit. If you’re like me you’ll regularly jump around between various programs as you develop a site - one minute you’re in text editor, the next you’re in an ftp program etc etc. Coda brings all that stuff into one program, streamlining the workflow. To be honest I’m still getting used to it, but so far I like what I see and It’s defo made my workflow much quicker. It’s kind of like Dreamweaver for hand-coders!

    Viewmaster from Ebay

The other week I got hold of some Eames viewmaster reels, but had no actual viewmaster in which to view them. So I went off to Ebay to see if I could find myself a nice little retro Viewmaster that would be perfect for viewing the reel from one of my fave design houses. I ended up paying just five pounds for a great little Viewmaster originally from Belgium complete with fanny retro box and instructions. Gotta love Ebay.

    Kuler from Adobe

Adobe Kuler. I chanced on this the other day and I think this could be a cool idea - though how useful it would be I’m not too sure yet. It’s kind of like Flickr for colour swatches. People post their colour recipes for other people to use and comment on. It reminded me in some way of what I love about Jelly Belly’s!
