The biggest influence on all my work is without a doubt my dad. He showed me that things like composition are an innate talent, something which I still believe to this day.

My dad, John Dawes, who worked as a professional newspaper photographer all his life had that innate ability in bucket loads. For a few years before getting into this whole web design thing I worked with him, mostly at big occasion football matches. I was stunned by how my dad treated every single picture as if his life depended on it - it didn’t matter that people would be wrapping their chips in that newspaper the next day. Every picture had to be perfect and the absolute best it could be. He was the ultimate professional, a legend and my hero. And I’m going to miss him greatly.
