More experimentation with the Flickr API. This plays around with the idea of using small bars made of the average colour from a photo instead of the traditional thumbnails that you normally see.

100 photographs are loaded in from the current Flickr public photo pool and a vertical bar is then made for each photo. Clicking on a bar loads the photo with the bar itself acting as a progress indicator. Once the image is loaded the background colour changes to the average colour contained in the photo, which then makes the bar act as a kind of selected ‘tab’.

I like sometimes seeing a sudden yellow bar or something similar that makes you click on it to see what the photo is like. Adds an element of surprise to the usual thumbnail to large image approach.
